New Haven

New Haven

Population, ~20,000.

Sir Harold Darkmoon, a grizzled veteran of the wars with Utopia in the North, is the elected leader of New Haven. His left leg crippled from the destruction of the original Haven, he leads the town fearlessly and doggedly, rarely resting, and always working to better the lives of the people he serves. A no-nonsense kind of man, he appreciates directness, honesty, and getting the job done.

New Haven is populated by the last groups of refugees allowed to pass south from the Northlands after Utopia was born. Originally they built the town of Haven, but within a year it was overrun by fledgling necromancers trying to attract the attention of Utopia in the Northlands. Sir Harold Darkmoon and his fellow grizzled adventurers fought the hordes of ghouls and ghasts, eventually confronting and slaying the necromancers. Sir Darkmoon was the only survivor, but he and his fellows bought the citizens time to escape further west, where they stoically began construction of New Haven.

Shortly after, they realized that New Haven had been constructed in the area once controlled by The Mad Baron, and was less than a weeks journey to the ruins of the metropolis known as Barons Burning. Nearby exploration also revealed the source of the Mad Baron’s wealth – a vein of Crystalline in the nearby abandoned mines.

From this crystalline, the town has grown and become wealthy – a growing power in the region. They have close ties to The School of Growth in The Spike.
